TRILHAS project in Vargem Grande 12
This batch of photos shows another income generating component of the project TRILHAS. The project is working in the community of Vargem Grande, giving poor farmers (often targeted for slave labor) inputs (seeds, tools, and training) to help them stay on their farms instead of opting for migration to unknown areas/jobs where they are vulnerable to exploitation.

The "Background on Slave Labor" links you provided on another part of this site really tell a chilling story. The pictures on Flickr have helped to bring the plight of these individuals to life. I'm looking forward to learning more through your blog postings.
